Stone pipes are used for transporting items. Stone pipes will not connect to cobblestone pipes, which makes them useful for making a compact item pipeline.

Stone pipes can be waterproofed, and turned into conductive pipes.

When items are accelerated by a gold pipe they are slower to decelerate in a stone pipe than a cobblestone pipe.
